Party-planning and movie-watching Tuesday!

Hello! Happy Tuesday!

Today in Math we worked in randomized groups of three to plan a party!

Here's the (translated) question:

You are planning a party for your class. There are 23 students in the class and you have a budget of $70 to spend on pizza, chips and drinks. Mme Careen will provide the plates, napkins and cups.

* A 2L bottle of pop costs $1,79.
*A big bag of chips costs $3.45.
* A large pizza (10 slices) costs $8.50.

How will you spend the money? There is more than one way to spend it. Make sure you choose the option that you think is best. You must explain and defend why your solution is the best.

After having time to discuss and plan, each group had a chance to present their suggestion to the class. We all worked well in our groups and did well presenting our solutions. Bravo!

Today in Science, we began watching the film, "Les pee-wee: l'hiver qui a changé ma vie." We will be watching this movie over the next couple of days, and will be discussing the similarities we see between this story and the Zamboni storyline.

To celebrate movie watching, Mme Careen found the perfect movie snack: Hockey pucks! Yum!

Watching the movie as a class was a great way to end our morning together!
