Electric Wednesday!

Hello, friends of learning! Happy Wednesday!

Today we were fortunate to welcome Mme Victoria from WISE who ran an electric circuits lesson for us during periods 1+2. After a quick introduction to electricity, positive and negative charges and electrical circuits, we were ready to get started!

Working with our table partners, we each received a snap circuit kit and had a chance to build as many different circuits as we could!

We lit up lightbulbs, turned a fan off and on, played a song, made an alarm and more!

See the whole class in action building with their snap circuit boards HERE!

The second part of our lesson with Mme Victoria was to make our own circuits using a battery, a rubber band, two safety pins, a thin copper wire and a magnet. The goal was to position the magnet to make the copper wire spin.

See our battery circuits HERE, HERE and HERE!

What a fun way to celebrate the mid-week of our last week before spring break!

Bravo!

AGENDA

1. Please ask me about our WISE presentation. What circuit was my favourite? Which one was the trickiest to build? Was I successful in getting my copper wire to spin on my battery circuit?

2. Lecture en français with Je Lis!
